Want a good smelling house while going green?
Check out the following:
Go to the health food store and purchase 100% Essential Oils. Apply a drop here and there of your favorite scent. My favorites are cinnamon, clove and white camphor. You may enjoy a few drops in your vacuum, inside the couch, and under the sinks...
I like using an essential oil warmer and adding several drops of orange, lavender, or lemongrass to name a few...
Vinegar may be sprayed on almost anything. It does have an unpleasant smell, but within a few hours it eliminates most unwelcome odors. Vinegar will destroy fungus too. I squirt it in the shower once the kids are done with their baths. When my kids spill milk on the carpet, I use the vinegar and on any bedtime accidents. Just add a few drops of essential oil to your spray bottle.
Use baking soda in your refrigerator to eliminate odor.
Add a couple drops of tea tree oil to the bottom of your clothes hamper.
Grow herbs in your kitchen. If you are going to burn candles, burn only beeswax and soy-based candles with cotton wicks, rather than petroleum-based paraffin.
Use your crock pot often. What an easy way to prepare your family's dinner. The smell is so comforting.
Cut up some oranges, add cloves and cinnamon then put all items in a mini crock pot.

you can also use essential ois in the bath. I am allergic to most bubble baths but I love putting essential oils in the water!
I love using essential oils in my bath also. My favorite is peppermint.
